When you drive on Egyptian roads, it is important to adhere to the speed limits. On inner-city and urban roads, the maximum speed limit is 60 km/h (37 mph). For rural roads and on the outskirts of cities, you can travel as fast as 90 km/h (56 mph), while on highways, the maximum speed limit is 100 km/h (62 mph). Watch out for speed cameras on the highways, especially around Cairo.
